This volume provides a legal, sociological, and political analysis of measures promoting gender equality in corporate governance at the international, European, and Italian levels.
It examines both soft and hard law measures, offering a comparative perspective on their implementation and effectiveness.
Special focus is given to the Italian framework, including listed companies, state-owned enterprises, gender certification, and Law No. 21 of 2024 on Italy’s capital market, questioning whether the time is ripe for extending quotas to medium-sized and large joint- stock companies.
The analysis then delves into the Women on Boards (WoB) Directive, a key European initiative, alongside recent EU measures such as the Pay Transparency Directive, the CSRD, and the Supply Chain Act.
As such, this volume offers valuable insights for legal scholars, policymakers, and anyone interested in gender equality and corporate governance.
